Navratri

One of my maths teacher during college once said that these 9 days of Navratri are the most auspicious and powerful days of the entire year. So i thought of sharing a beautiful shloka that I learned while I was doing my internship. This is a shloka that was sung before Saraswati Vandana in any organisation level events held there and I loved these lines.

Ya kundendu tushar har dhavala
ya shubhra vastravrita
Ya vina vardand mandita kara
ya shvetapadmasana
Ya brahma achyuta shankara prabhritibhir
devaih sada vandita
Sa mam patu sarasvati bhagavati
nihshesha jadyapaha.

This means

She shines like a full moon in a clear sky;
She is as pure as morning dew on a green leaf.
She wears a white sari (free from contamination),
She holds Veena in her two hands (a symbol of music),
and Veda (original Hindu scriptures) in other hand (A symbol of knowledge).
She sits on a white lotus and is worshiped by Brahma (her husband), Vishnu, Mahesh, and all other gods of the universe.
She is full of knowledge and we pray to her for all these things.

Jai Mata Di !!
